As the day continued, we found many more nice specimens. I finally found the source of the quartz crystals in the wall, a few feet above the floor of the mine.

One of the first crystal clusters I found. This plate is covered with huge iridescent quartz crystals 3" - 5" in diameter.

Here is a pic of it on the stovetop, where most of my new specimens end up.

The huge crystals show nice iridescent color and have perfect points. I have never seen a quartz crystal plate this big before.

The largest crystals on the plate measure over 5" in diameter.

M.A.G.M.A. member Keith Phagan got into an area producing lots of rutile.
