Fieldtrip Report:

Diamond Hill Mine,
Antreville S.C.
September 16th and 17th, 2006

Text and photos by: Lee Fleming

After cleaning up from dinner, we all settled into our chairs and a fire was started. First, Jim pulled out his guitar, then his friend pulled out hers, and finally, Mark went to his truck and pulled out an accordion. Boy, what a serenade that evening around a great fire. It was really nice to have such great entertainment, good conversation, and cool weather. Finally, we all went off to our tents and crashed for the evening.

Sunday morning arrived with the early risers getting up between 6 and 6:30. Right on schedule, the donkey began his noising making. Again, the group headed for the pits and began collecting their specimens. Even though Sunday was warmer, the group continued to collect until everyone had all the great Diamond Hill material they wanted.
