Colburn Museum
Gem Fest
June 19-21, 2009

Here is a short report from the Colburn Museum gem show this past weekend. Sandy and I arrived early Thursday to setup our booth.

I had a variety of minerals and fossils for sale.

Diamond Hill amethyst and smoky crystals, whale bones, shark teeth, Toms bismuth, just about anything you can think of, I had a little bit of everything.

Ed Wagner stopped by to see us.

I also had a couple of neat things on display for the customers to view. This is the 15 1/2 pound smoky/amethyst crystal from our November 2008 dig at Diamond Hill. I also had the Mammoth tusk pictured in my new book and the grappling hook I recovered from the Cooper River on display as well.

This is a nice cluster of Diamond Hill smoky/amethyst that Sandy was selling. It has great phantoms showing in the largest crystal.

Gail and Chet Karwoski stopped by to visit us at the show and visit downtown Asheville.

Steve Barr

Of course we were visited by the downtown Asheville residents. This colorful fellow had all kinds of rocks and fossils wire wrapped and attached to his clothing, hair, beard, etc, etc...

Another great show at the Colburn Museum. Looking forward to next years show.
