Fieldtrip Report:
White Rock Hill
Comer, Georgia
March 29th and 30th, 2008MAGMA had a successful trip to open a new site in Georgia. Around seventy five MAGMA members descended on the site Saturday morning. It was obvious that the area would accomodate at least two hundred diggers as the area was the size of three football fields! The weather scared some of our members away which accounted for the low turnout. Ben did not lie when he said everyone who attended would come home with at least a bucket full of specimens, some had the backs of their pickups filled with crystals. I saw three main types of material. Large milky white skeletal crystals, translucent and transparent skeletal crystals and clear phantom crystals with white phantoms inside. There were also many Indian points found.

Darryl Taylor found the first indian artifact, the bottom half of a point.

I camped out in back of Maggie.

Luther Hunt had his sale table setup with all kinds of goodies for the members.

Ron, ready for the hunt.
