Another project we have planned is to install a culvert here where the old road crosses into the mine, this will make it easier to access the mine and to bring in equipment when needed.
A bonus to collecting at the Crabtree is they now run horse tours by the site, a few of our visitors got a free ride to go along with their gemhunting trip.

I think you will get a kick out of these next two pics, I found them in an old book while researching the mine, the first shows the ore cart being lowered into the mine shaft, the pic was taken from inside the mine, the second pic shows visitors in the 70's checking the cart for emeralds.
