Fieldtrip report:

New England Collecting Trip

June 2007

Steve Bonney

The Morgan Quarry is located above the Harvard Quarry. I didn’t have a lot of time to collect here, but did find some nice purple fluorapatite crystals.

Tourmaline, Tamminen Quarry, Greenwood, Maine.

Zoned fluorapatite crystals and quartz, Waisanen Quarry, Greenwood, Maine. This specimen probably has over a hundred fluorapatite crystals on it from micros to ¼ inch.

A nice welcome to the Lord Hill Quarry dumps, Stoneham, Maine, after a long uphill hike in.

View from an overlook behind the Lord Hill Quarry, Stoneham, Maine. Hopefully I can enjoy this view again next year, after digging all day of course!
