Tom Henderson (TomH)

I am a geologist/ geochemist by training, and I now manage environmental cleanup projects as a contractor to the military. I've been collecting for ~35 years- first in the northeast where I grew up, now in Colorado where I've settled. I'm lucky to have two fine sons, a good woman, and a cabin in the mountains. Most of our adventures are launched from the cabin to visit funky mountain towns, old ghost towns, parks, and other attractions. Somehow I usually find somewhere along the way to look for rocks! My focus is generally crystals, although I'll collect a few fossils if the opportunity arises. Field collecting first, trading second, and silver pick a distant last. I don't have the opportunity to do lapidary, other than tumble my ugly crystals. I filed an amazonite claim near Lake George that gives me a place to explore in-depth. Then I try to get out on a club trip or two each season to explore new spots. So many rocks, so little time... Tom H.
