I am at the time an author/poet but I retired from working as a nurse in a nursing home due to cancer and injuries suffered on the job. I have done a little of everything but concentrate now on making jewelry, writing and finding things to write about. Donald is retired from the state of Virginia in law enforcement. We both like to go to flea markets and I love auctions as you never know what you will find. We found out that the mines in our area were open so we started to collect those gemstones and met some fellow rockhounds and therefore got involved with the group. I have nephews and a brother that have collected all over the world especially my oldest brother who was in the military. My sister likes arrowheads and Indian artifacts. I think in our family we always liked to look for amethyst, garnets and other stones. They have a wide range of vocations from lawyers to your average blue collar worker. I have to say that you do meet a wide range of people that are interested in our planet. Truly I have not met a rockhound that I did not like. Judy Lloyd
