Bob didn’t allow a bad knee to slow him down. That’s a real rockhound.

Ride-em cowboy!

Josh and Ross work the creek for fluorite.

Mine owner Bill Frazier helps some folks new to collecting fill their bucket. We could not have asked for a better host.

Some folks participated in a fluorescent hunt at the Columbia Mine on the second evening of our trip. The reds and blues in this specimen make for an especially striking specimen.

Inclusions in drusy smoky quartz from the Eureka Mine and Columbia Mine sometimes display interesting fluorescence.

Same specimen under shortwave ultraviolet light.

Josh and Jeremy work the hole at the Eureka on day three. Rain, sleet, and much colder temperatures didn’t deter those who were able to stay through day three.

Clement museum staff member (and MAGMA member), Tina, even took some time out to dig with us on day three. Tina does a great job coordinating events and groups at the Clement Museum. MAGMA presented Tina with a framed photo of her collecting with us last year to thank her for all her help in coordinating our trips.

Bruce and Hilda joined us all the way from Canada.
