Fieldtrip Report:

LaFarge Quarry
Harleyville, S.C.
January 15th, 2007

Finally back into the swing of things!, i'm behind a couple of reports, but will be caught up soon. The LaFarge trip with M.A.G.M.A. and NGRocks was a blast. I will admit that I have been spoiled with the SCUBA diving for fossils, but I had a great time with the members this weekend. A few of us headed down to South Carolina early Friday to check out a couple of fossil creeks in the area.

Above two pics of some of the teeth found at the little creek.

That evening we headed to our rooms at the Ashley Lodge in Harleyville...

It wasn't long before John and Steve were getting frisky in their room!

The next day we headed to the quarry for our 5 hours of fossil hunting.

There were a few nice pieces found, many by our members. I have not received any pics from other members, but Derek found one of the best teeth this trip.

That afternoon, Gerald Reel led us to a creek that he likes to collect, everyone found some nice material here also.

As always, another great weekend with great friends.
