Fieldtrip Report:

Jackson Crossroads
Amethyst Mine
(JXR)
Wilkes County, Ga.
November 26th, 2005
photos by: Lee Fleming and Rick Jacquot

Me wrapping my treasures.

Below are pics of some of the stuff I found:

Amethyst double, 3/4"

Amethyst twin, 1"

Facet amethyst 5/8"

Facet amethyst 1"

Facet amethyst on matrix rock, crystal is 5/8"

Towards the end of the day I found this golfball size crystal with the tip dinged off, but it may cut some stones?

Overall, i'd say we did pretty good for our first trip to the mine, we didn't find anything big but we all found something to take home, we'll find the $10,000 crystal on the next trip!, thanks to Rodney Moore for allowing rockhounds to visit his sites and collect.
