Alan Gould

1941 - 2006

In the short time I knew Alan, I found him to be a person who really enjoyed Rockhounding. He would come from Mississippi every summer to spend a couple of months rockhounding the mountains, many times with his faithful sidekick Missy the rockdog. Alan told me he had some serious health problems in the past and that rockhunting was going to help him to get better, despite his health, he always had a positive attitude and friendly smile for everyone. He joined the MAGMA club in 2004 and attended many of the trips while he was in town, he especially enjoyed hunting corundum at Chunky Gal and Buck Creek, he will be missed.
