I walked around and then up on the wall that they were working and was surprised to see Dave standing below me talking with Steve.

By mid-morning, I began to make my way up and around the mine rim to see if I could find Thomas and his digging for fluorite. When I got to the top of the mine rim, I looked back and was shocked to see the mine floor. It looked like an ant colony with people digging, walking around, and generally having a ball.

When I finally got to the top of the rim, all I could find was Thomas’s daughter standing beside their truck. She said that Thomas had, in fact, gotten into the fluorite and but he was having a hard time finding any nice material.

As I made my way around the parking area, I noticed that lauriesrocks had setup a trading and selling station for all to visit. They has some very nice material and were very nice to share a sample of Siderite in Quartz with me.

Also, while I was in the parking lot, I ran into our Tar Heel Gem & Mineral past president and other old friends.

Well, it was time to get back to the mine trench and see what was going on. I tried to go around and visit our MAGMA members to see what they were finding.
