Jackson's Crossroads Fieldtrip Report

Considering the intense heat and the fact that many of our members had spent exhausting days digging at Diamond Hill and Graves Mountain, the turnout at Jackson's Crossroads was great.

Lots of familiar faces began rolling into the site on Saturday evening and setting up camp. It was still too hot after the sun went down to light a fire, so we hunkered down in the metal hut, circled around lanterns and candles, and enjoyed some great conversations. At one point, there was about a twenty-minute downpour and everyone began really looking forward to collecting the next morning.

More members of the club drove in on Sunday as the sun was coming up, and those who had camped began tumbling out of their tents to attack the dump piles.
