November 11th, 12th, 2005

Waiting for night time Friday night.

Fluorescent apatite crystals in matrix.

After about an hour, I managed to break the cord on my UV light, I had to head home to fix that and several others decided to camp out on my living room floor rather than in the woods, Gene braved the cold and stayed at the Ray, the rest of us caravaned to my house for the night and spent a quiet evening discussing a variety of educational subjects 8^)

Saturday the 12th

We awoke at the house Saturday morning bright eyed and bushy tailed and ready to rockhunt. After a few gallons of coffee we headed back to the Ray, Gene was back in his hole and some other members had arrived and setup camp.

Ol'Mutt making new friends in the parking lot.

We headed up the creek to find more members digging, Jerry and Tena were there, it was great to see them after a few months, Jerry has been in New Orleans the past couple of months working. After catching up on current affairs we decided to hike up the mountain and try our luck digging for some of the elbaite tourmaline.
