Hello members, time to report on another great annual fluorescent dig to the Yancey and Mitchell County areas in Western North Carolina. The plan was to camp out at the Ray Mine starting Friday and hunt for Ray Mine minerals during the day and the fluorescent apatite and others at night, hunt the Ray again Saturday and then head to our Saturday night spot that evening. Gene Jeffers was the first to the mine on Friday and already had his camp setup when we arrived, Ben was also there and showed us some of the beryl he had been finding.
