Field Trip Report:

Propst Farm Corundum,
Lincoln Co., North Carolina, January 4, 2004

Hello all, had a great day at the Propst Farm today, perfect weather, did not find as much as usual but I did get a chance to finally meet Dave H. from Boone. It took a while but we finally got a chance to collect together, a very nice person, also had Lades with me. We dug in some deep holes, Dave H. and I both hit a good gravel layer and found a few nice pieces, Lades was not as lucky, when he left the mine he was growing black fur and a white stripe down his back, he got skunked!!! Unfortunately this may be the last time to collect here, I talked to the owner before I left, I will post more on the points of access page, here are a couple of pics.

A few sapphires and rubies, the two largest pieces measure 1" x 1" each, one is a mottled blue and pink, the other is a nice solid ruby, I may cut it.
