In the last few years finding amethyst has been rare, at least for me, I had pretty much given up on finding any when I visit the site and spend most of my time looking for the variety of other specimens to be had, today was different, while excavating an area of the mine, there must have been a small pocket hit and discarded on the dump pile, soon everyone had some impressive specimens for their collections.

Above: Steve Cochran and his 10 pound specimen of massive and crystal amethyst.

GeodePat on the amethyst hunt.

Adrian was very happy with her amethyst finds, some were deep purple in color.
