Fieldtrip Report:
Amos Cunningham Mine
Due West , South Carolina
March 15th, 2008This was our second official trip to the Cunningham Mine. I saw a lot of great material found compared to our first time at the site. The weather forcast was not looking good, but we decided to go ahead with the dig. Saturday morning I arrived at the mine to a black sky and thunderstorms in the distance. By eight o'clock the storms were there. It rained hard for about thirty minutes, then the sun came out and it turned out to be a great day.

One of the first beryls of the day.

Some of the crystals and points found by Rick Bernotas after the initial storm.

John D. braved the storm and headed back to the quartz crystal area, he found quite a few nice specimens.
