Fieldtrip report:
Chunky Gal Mountain, Saturday, January 24th, 2004
Yesterday was a great trip, members of the Henderson County Gem and Mineral Society and the Mountain Area Gem and Mineral Association met in front of the Silver Armadillo rockshop and then proceeded to Chunky Gal Mountain in Clay County, we spent about two hours on top of the mountain:

Everyone found some nice material, ruby in smaragdite, after lunch we proceeded to the Herbert Mine at Buck Creek where we found numerous pieces of corundum and many nice hex crystals:
