Fieldtrip Report:

Yates Brooks Farm, Cleveland County, N.C. Jan. 17, 2004

Hello all, a few of us hardcore M.A.G.M.A members made it out to collect at the Yates Brooks Farm in Cleveland County, N.C. yesterday, 1-17-04, actually it was a nice day for collecting, the temps were in the mid to upper 40's with no rain, great for digging !, Lades, RJ, Travis and myself met with Riviera at the site around 10:30, everyone found some nice material:

This site is noted for nice muscovite mica crystal clusters and singles, clear facet grade quartz, quartz with chlorite inclusions, anatase etc.. We found the best area to collect was near the bottom of the hill by the creek, the top area has been dug through several times over the years and it is getting hard to find anything there.
