Field Trip Report:
Black Mountain Kyanite and Sapphire,
Buncombe County, N.C.,
September 10th, 2005
Many times when you find the larger sapphires at this site, they have little color and are white with just a hint of blue, the ones we found today all showed an excellent deep blue color from the small ones up to the largest ones I saw.
