Around 1:00 we decided to caravan to the Uwharrie Forest to hunt for quartz, we visited the old Shingletrap Quartz Mine.

At this site we also met up with Dirtyrockhound member NewbieMatt and his family, they were gold hunting as we came in and followed us to the mine. A shot of the group at the mine, Thomas was back in his element and got to use a big sledge to bust the quartz rocks.
