Cave Formations from Ladds Mountain, Georgia

Ladds Mountain in Cartersville, Georgia is a former limestone quarry that is no longer active, while mining the quarry several cave systems were discovered containing many beautiful formations. The formations were being destroyed by the mining and the county allowed mineral collectors to collect the formations to preserve them from being lost forever. Ladds was one of the only places in the country to legally collect cave formations, it is now closed to collecting.
