In March of 2021, we held our 12th annual gem show in Asheville, NC. I was contacted prior to the show by a gentleman from India who was inquiring if I would be at the show selling trinitite. He had been following my posts on social media and had visited my web site several times. I advised him I would be there with a large selection of trinitite in a range of sizes from 1-2 grams to over 20 grams a piece.

The man came to the show and spent almost an hour studying the various pieces I had to offer before making his selection. I asked him how long he had been collecting trinitite. He said he started searching for the stones about 20 years ago, then he went on to tell me about the specific properties of the trinitite.

The man told me that he does not call trinitite, “trinitite”. He calls it “Trinity Stone”. He said that in the metaphysical and spiritual worlds, the Trinity Stone is a protection stone that guards the wearer, holder, owner from evil in the world, evil people, etc. He said it will alert them or make them aware when they are in the presence of an evil human being or entity. I asked him how he came up with these beliefs about the trinitite and that I had heard some people talk negatively about trinitite. He told me the people who are negative about it are ignorant to its properties and uses. He went on to tell me many things that I already knew were fact, and as he talked, I could see where the stone would have great significance in the spiritual world.

During World War II, the United States and our allies were faced with pure evil. The Germans were slaughtering millions upon millions of Jews, blacks, gays. Torturing them, burning them alive, gassing them in gas chambers, skinning them to make lampshades and paper. The Japanese, the allies to the Germans, were bombing and killing our people and torturing our soldiers when they would catch them. This may have been one of the most evil times in our worlds history. The Germans and Japanese had to be stopped or it would have been the end of the civilized, free world.

The United States, along with our partners in Canada and the United Kingdom gathered together the greatest minds and scientists and asked them to create something that could stop our enemies from taking over the world. That was when the Manhattan Project was born, (Details on the project can be found in the history section on this web site). The scientists developed a core made of plutonium. A sphere a little larger than a softball. What they were not clear on, was how powerful this core actually was.

Once the core was finished, it was placed in a steel housing and hoisted into a 100 foot tall tower that was erected on a site named, Trinity. The plan was to detonate the world’s first atomic bomb to see if it would be sufficient to stop our enemies. Upon detonation, everything on the desert floor was sucked up into the ensuing mushroom cloud. It is estimated that the blast was the equivalent to 21 kilotons of TNT. The temperature inside the cloud reached 50 – 150 million degrees. Hotter than the sun. The cloud grew to 7 ½ miles high and created a crater approximately 1,000 yards in diameter in the desert floor. Everything that was pulled into the cloud was either vaporized or liquefied.

What was not completely vaporized was rained back down onto the desert. As is cooled, it was clear that it had been transformed from its original state and now formed a new mineral never before seen on earth, a green glass named, “Trinitite” or, as my Indian friend calls it, “Trinity Stone”. With the success of the test, the new weapon was used against our enemies and the war was ended. Humanity was saved along with millions of lives.

I knew all the things he was telling me were true. I have been studying trinitite for the past two years, but it was interesting to hear it coming from someone who appreciated the stone for something different. He went on to explain that rock crystals, minerals, stones and tektites, while formed under extreme heat and pressure, cannot compare to the energy that was needed to create trinitite. It was forged in pure energy and light by a force the world had never seen before. He, and others in the metaphysical/spiritual community believe the knowledge to create this power came from something beyond our world. That it was passed onto these men in order to save humanity.

Trinitite may be the rarest mineral on earth. What was created at the Trinity site on July 16th, 1945, is the only trinitite in existence. Small 2 – 5 gram pieces can still be found in old collections. Pieces larger than 5 grams are getting harder and harder to find and specimens over 10 grams are extremely rare.

I was impressed by the man’s knowledge of trinitite and its history. I respect his beliefs and I told him I would be happy to share the special properties the stone holds for him and others in the metaphysical community. He told me it was difficult to get good, quality large pieces in India, and that when he could locate them on the internet, the seller usually did not ship overseas. I too had a policy of only shipping in the USA, but have since changed that policy to ship overseas with adjusted shipping costs if requested.
